INDECENT DRESSING: A FILTHY ACT OF SOCIAL MADNESS

Since time immemorial, one of the most cherished aspect of our culture is basically the decent mode of dressing which displays a steadfast adherence to a strict moral and ethical code. Dressing in a way that suits societal norms and values is not only rewarding to ones integrity, pride and beauty but also logically distance one from societal vices ranging from sexual harassment, moral decadence and host of other social complexes capable of undermining morality. Even before the advent of clothes to cover the sensitive parts of our body, God made leaves available premised on the fact that such body would not be susceptible to abuse, diseases and other similar social disgrace.

In recent years, indecent dressing has reached its peak of infiltrating the moral uprightness of people in our societies, with women participating actively in this filthy act. But what keeps me wondering is, of course there's a reason behind every decision taking. So, of what relevance is indecent dressing to those who values, engages and promotes it? Centuries back, we had seen pictures of ladies and women of different cultural backgrounds and ethnic groups, how valuable they considered their nudity by apparelling on precious valuable traditional attires which offered them more additional beauties, pride, dignity and caught the attention of right thinking men.

At the last phase of the 20th century and by the eventful eve of the 21st century, technological advancements began to discourage parents to overlook, skip and abandon their primary responsibilities on their wards. To some experts and even laymen, technology advanced as a means of introducing Neo-colonialism. Certain improvements were actually made to our everyday lives, our choice of language, mode of dressing, mode of eating and our moral beliefs, which cut across every foray of human endeavor. The introduction of foreign ways of dressing have had lethargic effects on our customs and values. It does not only come to impose a new way of dressing as substitute to our traditional mode of dressing but had also come to make our societies liable to all forms of moral and social deterioration.

The depth of this obscene and morally disgusting attitude is sunk deeply in the failure of the parents to perform their responsibilities as effective as expected. Being the first in the chain of societal education and orientation, parents had made little or no efforts in letting their wards and children understand that indecent dressing is neither a show of class, but rather a show shame in this era. Some parents had gone extra miles in promoting this repulsive attitude by buying armless, chestless and skimpy clothes for their wards right from tender ages. They failed to caution these kids against such a morally offensive attitude. As they grow up, this systemically take a new leaf, especially as they meet new friends who also adopt the same style of dressing. Thus, they decided to go haywire all in the name feeling more exposed and becoming sexually classical among other ladies in the neighborhood, schools and other social gatherings.

Indecent dressing has no link whatsoever to any religious beliefs, because virtually all these acceptable religions do preach in favor of modesty and avoidance of sexual explicitness. A lot of bad effects and no good, could be traced to this act such as rape, harassment, low esteem, moral deficits, initiation to bad company, extrovert life etcetera. To curb all these, parents have a bigger role to play by re-orientating their children, monitor what they watch, what they wear and who they relate with. Schools also must condemn such as an act of immorality. They should make laws, rules, regulations or policies that would lay embargo to the engagements of students in such cankerworm. They should orientate new students about the acceptable dress codes by organising  an exhibition, make pamphlet containing information against these act and ensure each and everyone has a copy. Equally, they must strictly ensure that discipline and character remain their unyielding watchword. Stringent disciplinary actions should be set aside for those who violate the dressing codes.

On the final note, I want to make it clear that those who engaged in this act for reasons best known to them are oblivious of the fact that the way you dress is the same way you will be addressed. Those that got enticed by your sexy skimpy dresses and hot shapes only want to use and dump you like sex doll. They have come closer to you to heal their lustful desires and become your friends only on the bed. Do you know that a day when a man tastes the sweetness of a woman, that day he also tastes the bitterness?. Every right thinking man would want to settle with a modest partner. They would want a wife who have the potentials of serving as role model to their daughters. Do not let your today preserve a poison for your tomorrow. Remember that no man rules forever in the throne of time. You have the chance of today to retrace your steps and make necessary adjustments.
